“ Had a wonderful lunch here yesterday The food was exceptional and the service provided was excellent The attention to detail was great We had a few drinks and would highly recommend the rhubarb gin. Also had what I would say was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. After lunch we decided to take a seat outside with a wonderful view over the bowling green. If you have not already been give this place a try you will not be disappointed ”

“ Wife and Mum in Law declared the food, the ambiance and the attentive staff as perfect. Mum scoffed down her custom burger and Wifey was very satisfied with her Crayfish and Prawn Salad. I had the Sausage and Mash with French Onion Gravy which was very tasty. The place was popular as evidenced by the regular influx of customers. I recommend the establishment wholeheartedly to you but word to the wise, make sure you book ahead. ”

“ What a charming, traditional and quaint restaurant in the heart of Southend! We had afternoon tea with sandwiches and wonderful cakes along with tea and coffees. Love the atmosphere as it's chilled and quite casual,but not scruffy. This was a more relaxed than other afternoon tea packages I could mention. Watching bowling on the green give it a real old English feel. It tended to cater for a slightly older crowd,who value service and attentive staff rather than over elaborate food . The service was outstanding and we loved our server, who was kind, friendly and helpful with the menu. We loved sitting outside on the patio and loved the calm atmosphere that surrounded us. It truly is a hidden gem in Southend and we will definitely be returning. ”
